A former communications and policy advisor to Illinois Senate President Emil Jones Jr., Jeff worked with lobbyists, interest groups and state agencies to develop communications and issue management strategies to support legislative proposals and initiatives. Jeff served as the Senate Democrats’ point person on a wide range of top-tier policy issues, helping Senators and stakeholders guide contentious legislation through the intricacies of the Illinois General Assembly. As the primary press contact for key members of Senate leadership, Jeff developed solid working relationships with the Springfield Press Corps and Chicago-area reporters.
Jeff orchestrated numerous grassroots and issue advocacy campaigns during his time in the legislature, working extensively with community leaders and local officials to influence key decision-makers. At Res Publica Group, Jeff works with clients on a variety of state government issues, specializing in health care, real estate and education.
A seasoned political consultant, Jeff worked in various roles on federal, state and local campaigns. He directed media relations and field operations for numerous state Senate candidates, helping the Democratic caucus gain a majority in that chamber in 2002. Prior to his work in the General Assembly, Jeff raised money and assisted in legislative outreach for an influential Chicago-area political action committee.
Jeff is a 2001 graduate of Illinois State University in Normal, where he received a bachelors’ degree in politics and government.
