Julia Morsch Sznewajs joined Res Publica Group at its founding, after serving as a senior account supervisor at KemperLesnik Public Affairs.  Julia’s expertise in strategic planning, lobbying, and community and media relations adds to our team’s specialty in developing solid relationships between corporate clients and their communities.

With an emphasis on the health care and real estate industries, Julia’s tenure at Res Publica has focused on providing counsel for local and national client initiatives, including regulatory and legislative campaigns that require strategic planning and sound project implementation.  Her experience in community organizing is evident through the success of efforts to expand O’Hare International Airport on behalf of the Civic Committee of The Commercial Club of Chicago and fund capital projects for Illinois’ most renowned public museums.  Julia advises public, private, and non-profit sector clients.

Previously, Julia served as a government affairs associate with Alcalde & Fay, a government and public affairs firm located in Washington, D.C.  Her time there included managing media relations and lobbying initiatives for corporate and association clients in the areas of energy and environment.  In that role, she represented Fortune 100 companies before the U.N. Conference on Global Climate Change in Kyoto, Japan, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and members of Congress.

Julia began her career as director of communications and advocacy for the Chicago Anti-Hunger Federation.  Her responsibilities included managing internal communications, media relations, grassroots outreach, and special event planning.

Julia went to Marquette University and received a bachelor’s degree in political science.  She is a member of the City Club of Chicago and the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations.  She and her family reside in Chicago.
